DEBUNKING TIME

this poster is from 2006, and it is literally an anti-theft poster. the “assets” being referred to in this poster are the visible cell phone, camera, and ipod. (seriously look at it it though- the bare midriff and visible thong are 2006 fashion, not a depiction of a woman who is ‘asking for it’.  and who has a phone like that anymore? or carries a camera around? or has a 1st gen ipod?)

victim blaming is gross and comparing rape to theft is gross, but this poster is neither of those things. buzzfeed has an article about it too, including photos of the actual anti-rape posters they are currently distributing.

This is the actual anti-rape poster from Greater Manchester police – Well done.
