Being able to class those as “just an opinion” is the epitome of straight white cis male privilege. Fuck that.

Because somewhere in elementary school, they got the lesson on fact vs opinion and somehow let it stick that “their opinion matters” and forgot the part about opinions being wrong when there are facts to negate them. (ie: you cannot hold the ‘opinion’ that trees are aquatic animals, since that’s incorrect and there is a fact that says otherwise.) It’s hard to remember that NOT ALL OPINIONS HAVE MERIT.
