destroy the idea that I’ll ever:
- give you up
- let you down
- run around and desert you
- make you cry
- say goodbye
- tell a lie and hurt you

But I don’t want small talk. Text me, and without saying hello, tell me why you got so angry at your sister this morning. Tell me why you have a scar shaped like Europe on the left side of your neck. Send me paragraphs about the time you spent at your grandmother’s house that one summer. Call me when I’m half asleep and tell me why you believe in God. Tell me about the first time you saw your dad cry. Go on for hours about things that may not seem important because I promise that I’ll be hanging on to every word you say. Tell me everything. I don’t want someone who just talks about the weather.
1. I am constantly torn between wanting to be loved and wanting to be left alone.
2.The heart,
Yes the heart!
Can’t be denied
It echoes,
And it echoes
For you.3.If you can’t
get them out
of your mind,
make space
for them in
your heart.
I had to get over him. For months now, a stone had been sitting on my heart. I’d shed a lot of tears over him, lost a lot of sleep, eaten a lot of cake batter. Somehow, I had to move on. Life would be hell if I didn’t shake loose from the grip he had on my heart. I most definitely didn’t want to keep feeling this way, alone in a love affair meant for two. Even if he’d felt like The One. Even if I’d always thought we’d end up together. Even if he still had a choke chain on my heart.
I hope one day 5 years from now you stumble across me when I’ve grown out of you and finally then after not seeing me for all this time it will break your heart.

Just in case you ever foolishly forget; I’m never not thinking of you.
Things that say a lot about people:
- the way which they treat the waiter/waitress
- how they feel about the weather
- whether they dog ear pages or highlight in books
- fingernails
- and hands in general
- their preferred creative outlet
- how much they dread/enjoy talking on the phone
- whether or not they drink coffee
- if they ever forget to eat
- how honest they are with themselves (and others)
- if they correct your grammar
- and whether or not they get nervous before haircuts
